South Woods Middle School Tournament of Champions

South Woods Middle School Tournament of Champions

South Woods Middle School organized a "Tournament of Champions" to benefit the Corey's Promise Foundation. The event, held after school, featured a volleyball tournament with participants from all grade levels. In addition to volleyball, students also played ping pong as part of the event. They invited staff members to join their teams, adding an extra layer of excitement and teamwork.

Corey's Promise is a nonprofit organization based in Huntington, New York, founded in honor of Corey Phelan, a young athlete who was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April 2022 and passed away later that year. The organization's mission is to help families offset the financial burdens they endure during their child's cancer diagnosis and to raise awareness for pediatric cancer.
